Our theme experience this term involved a visit from the Immersive Theatres company! Mario (from Immersive Theatres) brought in an inflatable planetarium for us to sit in and be transported across space!
Using 360° technology, we were able to view and discuss numerous topics including: the search for life on other planets; how star constellations are created and used; what happens on the International Space Station; what a roller coaster around Saturn would look like; and the composition of our solar system. We thoroughly enjoyed our planetarium visit and would like to thank Mario for coming.

Kestrels have been fantastic in their approach to raising money for their planetarium visit. We've create posters for a sweet sale and even packaged the sweets ourselves. The team work and understanding of running a small business has been great. Dare we say, it's been a sweet experience!
We've been getting to grips with multiplication and division in mathematics this week. Identifying multiples and factors has been a key focus and we've done this by using concrete, pictorial and abstract resources. This has helped to show our answers and thinking in different ways!
Kestrels have worked really hard this week to orally rehearse and perform our model text using the text map generated. We have done this in small groups (dividing the paragraphs between us) and as a class. Below are a selection of pictures.
This week we investigated the effects of friction in Science. We used a ramp, toy car and different surfaces to see which surface created less friction to enable the toy car to travel far off the ramp. Below are a selection of pictures from our investigation.
