During Sports Week we have been keeping ourselves active in all sorts of ways: combining maths and English with physical activity, completing problem solving activities outdoors and embracing a bit of Zumba!

Kestrels had a brilliant Sports Day this year, which involved some very close races! It was fantastic to see our family and friends supporting us and that the whole day was conducted with great sportsmanship. Below is a selection of photos from our track events.
Kestrels were very lucky to experience Soul Space recently with the guidance of Rev. Ed and Rev. Wendy. This time allowed us to be alone with our own thoughts in order to think about our lives and the lives of others. We reflected in numerous ways: thinking of loved ones whilst making pipe cleaner people; writing our dreams on a star; creating an image of helpfulness on scratch card to display bringing light to someone's world. We would like to say thank you to Rev. Ed and Rev. Wendy for such a wonderful experience.
We had a fantastic day at the Medieval Festival learning all sorts about the Battle of Tewkesbury and the Medieval way of life. We participated in various activities: music and dance, archery, spear drills, camp visits and squire training. To top it off, we relived the battle by fighting for King Edward IV against the Lancaster forces! Below is a selection of photos from our lovely day.
It was fantastic again to share our learning with the rest of the school and the family members who came to visit. We would like to thanks those who came to visit and for all of the lovely compliments about our work. Please enjoy the selection of photos from the afternoon.
This week we have been very busy getting creative in art and our play rehearsals.
We have worked with a local artist, Alison, to make an enormous model for the Medieval Festival Parade (on Sunday 14th July). In small groups, we gradually constructed a frame for the knight using bamboo, before applying strong paper to glue on and paint over. In addition, we have been working hard to learn our parts in this year's KS2 play. We are not far off show day now and are really looking forward to it! |
