All of the hard work and effort that the KS2 children have put into the annual play has paid off! The dedication and focus that the children have shown to learning their songs, lines and routines has been exemplary and we do hope that you had the chance to watch the play and enjoy it.

We were very fortunate today to have a professional pianist come in to: talk about the history of the piano, teach us some basic notes, and to play some of her own work.
Discussing the history of the piano was particularly interesting because we found out that the piano used to be a very small instrument! Furthermore, we learned about specific famous pianists, notably some that we deaf when composing some of their most well-known pieces of work. Listening to the pianist play some of her own work was incredible, especially hearing the differing volumes, paces and notes played. A few of us were then lucky to play some of the notes from her work alongside her. We have certainly been inspired! In light of the upcoming General Election on June 8th 2017, we held our very own class election to see which party Kestrels would want in government!
Firstly, we revisited the purpose of an election, noting that it gave people the opportunity to have their say on key issues. Next, we looked at the political parties and their manifestos. Lastly, we then debated which parties we felt should be in power and why. Our results:
